Analyze Travis Etienne's matchup for week 11
Etienne is a locked-in top-15 play in Week 11 after averaging 117 rushing yards in Jacksonville’s three wins and facing a Chargers defense that has surrendered eight rushing TDs to RBs (third-most) and 4.6 yards per carry.
The Chargers have bled fantasy points to backs all year—19.1 PPR per game to the position, 643 rushing yards and eight touchdowns allowed through seven weeks—and Etienne is finally seeing bell-cow usage again after out-snapping and out-touching rookie Bhayshul Tuten in consecutive games. With the Jags at home (where they’re 3-1) and favored, expect a positive script that keeps the ball in Etienne’s hands and maximizes his 4.45-speed advantage against a front seven that just gave up 111 total yards and two scores to a far less explosive back last week.
Over the last four games Etienne has averaged 21.3 touches and 112 scrimmage yards while scoring in two of them; more importantly, his snap share has jumped from 55% to 78% since the bye and he’s handled 10-of-12 red-zone carries during that span.
Etienne’s 2025 revival has coincided with Jacksonville recommitting to a run-first identity. In wins he’s seeing 23.7 touches per game versus 14.3 in losses, and the offensive line—now healthy—has re-opened the explosive gap runs that made him a top-20 pick two years ago. The Chargers’ defensive woes start up front: they’ve missed the third-most tackles (47) and their light-box rate (68%) invites explosive plays, something Etienne has already capitalized on with four 15-plus-yard runs in his last 14 quarters. Add in his secure pass-catching role—he’s run a route on 62% of drop-backs the past month—and you get a 20-touch floor plus touchdown equity in a game Jacksonville needs to keep control of to stay in the wild-card hunt. Fire him up as a high-end RB2 who carries legitimate top-five upside if the Chargers’ offense stalls and the positive game script materializes that has fueled every Etienne spike week so far.
